When your love for the ZA, and brunch come together.

Believe it or not - Bosco was one of the first places that i had my eye on visiting when i got back into Bristol. If you were to look through the text history between Paul and I, you would see a screen shot of the venue in our messaging window ! It has been on my radar for that long now!

But, as i am sure you are all aware - life sometimes gets the best of you, and the things that you are most wanting to do and see... are often the things that are pushed to the back.

Needless to say, when they invited me in to test out their new summer brunch menu - although I was on my own ( Paul is in Ibiza for the weekend ) i could NOT decline the offer !

The culture at Bosco, is definitley more than pizza, so don't think there will be limited options !

We’ve always had a deep love of Italy and spend most of our family holidays there. We got married there and even had our children christened there. Early on we fell in love with Italian food and the ingredient-led simplicity of its cooking, the culture of Italian family dining and of course the delicious wood fired pizzas of Naples. We often wondered why we couldn’t get Neapolitan style pizza like that at home and eventually decided it was time open our own pizzeria to see what we could do.

We took inspiration from restaurants in New York and San Francisco where Neapolitan style pizza was taking off thanks to the guys at Franny’s, Roberta’s and Una Neapolitana.

We quickly got to work and began sourcing the best produce we could find. We refined our dough recipe and eventually we created our own Neapolitan style pizza.

Once we were happy with our pizza we started to write our menu but soon found we just couldn’t leave out the other amazing dishes we had tasted on our travels. So in the end we created a menu full of fresh homemade Italian dishes and what began as a little neighbourhood pizzeria became something slightly more, something more than just pizza.

As you can see - i had quite the spread for lunch ! And as  delicious as the Negroni may have been- for me, i think it was a tad to early to drink such a drink - but none the less it was delicious !

You will have to go in to Bosco ( they have two locations here in Bristol ), and try out their new summer menu. Being Canadian and all, i thnk it would be safe to say that the sweet baked Pannetone was my favourite. Its such a struggle here to find a sweet breakfast - but this one wasn't sickly sweet, it was just the perfect amount.

What kinda brunch person are you ? Sweet, or savoury ?
