#29 Take One - Brunch at Culina

Well, well, well, yet another year down.
I have to say though... even though I had alot of odd's staked against me this year, I can honestly say this has been one of my BEST years yet!

Although I have not accomplished everything that I have WANTED to accomplish, I have totally taken steps in the right direction. And that, that is a good feeling right there.

Slow and stead wins the race, right ?

Anyways, I was lucky enough to spend my Birthday morning with Wendy! Wendy and my dad were married at one point, and her and I have always maintained a relationship since then!

I typically have a place in mind that I want to go to for my birthday BUT this time I took to the trusty Facebook status to get the help of others. And one of the places that was recommended more than once was a restaurant called Culina.

A tiny little nook of a restaurant, that was nice and quaint... and more importantly not super busy! I even ran into one of my friends Mike!

We first started  off breakfast with some coffee and cornbread, what I loved the most was, the berry butter... I think I may have kept on forgetting that it was butter, because I couldn't help but add more and more to my cornbread!

From there came the main course! Wendy went with the Eggs benedict, with choice of smoked bacon or maple sage sausage & two poached eggs on potato sourdough toast with hollandaise & brunch potatoes. And for me, I went with the Bourbon-soaked apple fritters w. aged white cheddar, house chicken patty & ginger maple syrup.

I can't say that it was my favourite breakfast, and was totally eye'ing up Wendy's choice LOL. But it sure was interesting!!

What is your favourite Breakfast foods? Do you prefer sweet, or savoury ?
