It's funny what a few years will do to ya.
I honestly used to remember seeing 'older' girls, and think, their style is so boring.
Little did I know, simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication. Over the past few years, I am so proud to say that I have really dialed my 'styling' back, and learned to tone things down. ALOT.
Not to discredit any one who likes loud and bold styles... However for me, I find, the items that look alot more like high street wear, instead of high end, are typically the items that have alot of writing and graphics on it, as a opposed to the clean, and effortless lines with good tailoring as a lot of high end fashion displays.
I think one of the coolest things about getting old (er) is seeing how things go around in fashion, you are really able to tell what is classic, and what is just a trend. And personally, that is what helps me dictate what I will spend a little bit more on to splurge, and what I will pick up at the bargain shops.
If you are looking for a clean, and effortless chic look this season, try these few tips when sorting out your next outfit.
1. The tame hair tuck
As someone with the finest, limpest hair you will ever meet, i typically like as huge of hair as I can get. But what I have come to notice is, the sleeker, and tame'r ( is that a word lol ? ), and cleaner of a hair style you have, the more refined, an effortless you look.
For once... A fine hair win !
2. A classic watch
Although I am currently on the hunt for a new watch, this Michael Kor's one has seen better days ! And although, I kind of find watches not very functional anymore ( Hello Iphone's that tell us the time now ), I do find that wearing a watch puts a great refined look to an outfit.
Almost like the icing on top of cake, it just finishes the whole look off !
3. A great blazer
This blazer is just from Dynamite, but let me tell ya... One day, a black Balmain one will be mine. #Goals. I find a well fitted blazer should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe. I personally like my blazers a lot more structured. However this one from Dynamite fits great and is awesome to throw over almost any outfit and make it look that much more smart !
Bonus tip :
This one totally isn't pictured here... But my #1 tip, for looking put together, even though you may not be... Is a bold lip.
WITH. OUT. FAIL. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME...
I wear a bold lip, however the rest of me is just thrown together, people always comment on how put together I look... When really it's just the facade that a bold lip does for ya !
What are your effortless style hacks for days you just can't be assed ?
