Let's just call a spade a spade, and acknowledge the fact that I am so horrible and consistently blogging :p. It's alright, I have totally come to terms with it!
But... At least I am acknowledging it, and trying harder right ?
Just a little over two weeks ago, I headed to my first show at WCFW ( Western Canadian Fashion Week ) here in Edmonton. And I have to be brutally honest... I never attended before, because, I always thought it wouldn't be an experience that I liked.
I mean, Edmonton isn't really the fashion capital of Canada or anything. And sometimes... From former hairstylist friends, they didn't really 'talk up' the experience.
As I am trying to get more experience filming under my belt, I reached out to my former principal of the Hair School I attended ( Est - Elle Academy of Hair Design ) and asked if I could tag along, and Kevin was more than accommodating!
I started the day off by first heading to Whyte Avenue, where the girls at the school were already getting started on their models... Let's just say there was a lot of hairspray being put out around that place!
They had three different themes, a Circus, Mother Nature, and then Run Away Bride.
I won't go TOO much into the details of everything, because I totally have a YouTube clip you can watch. But what I wanted to talk about / document was HOW much I enjoyed it.
It totally caught me off guard! Not only did our girls from Est-Elle do GREAT! But, seeing some of the other local designer was SO cool. It was great to see the local talent... And if i am admitting to my selfish thoughts... It was great to see who could potentially do some custom dresswork for me some day #MoreLikeOneDay.
Check out some of the pictures from the event, as well as the video below!
Have you been to a Fashion Show / Make Up Show / Hair Show ? What were your thoughts ? Did you think it was too grand and not realistic for every day wear? Or could you see the art behind it all ?
