The weekend was finally open us for Build Conference at Celebration Church! I have been attending this church for just about a year and half now. And although I was around last year for the conference, I didn't actually attend the conference.
Fast forward a year later, i attended, served, and LEARNED.
In this past year, i have really enjoyed following Levi Lusko, and his ministry - So when I saw that he would be one of the speakers at the conference, I knew I couldn't miss it. If I am honest, most of my motivational posts on facebook are typically from Levi Lusko's sermons ! That being said, due to the fact that I follow his ministry so closely, some of what he spoke about at the conference I had heard before... But it was definitely cool to see / hear him speak in person!
Levi Lusko is the Pastor of Fresh Life Church, a multi site church in Montana, that he and his wife Jennie pioneered in 2007. His passion for the Gospel also led him to start Skull Church, an evangelistic event bringing an undeniable call to hope in the cross for this generation. He also founded the O2 Experience, centered on a culturally relevant and clear message, providing an opportunity for people to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ and take a stand for strength and honour. Levi also serves as host for Greg Laurie's Harvest Crusades and travels internationally to speak at churches and conferences. He and his wife Jennie have four daughters , Alivia, Daisy Close, and Lenya, who is in heaven.
Next up was a Pastor from Winnipeg named Leon Fontaine. Personally I have not followed his ministry prior to this, and some of the things he spoke / taught on, is an area in which I am still very new too and don't have very much experience with.
So it was definitely interesting to learn more about it, even though i don't resonate with his teachings as much. But what I CAN relate to, is his passion ! His passion is contagious!
Pastor Leon is the founding Pastor of Springs Church in Winnipeg Manitoba & Calgary, Alberta and is the CEO of the Miracle Channel. Under his leadership, Springs has become one of the largest Evangelical churches in Canada and is continuing to grow through its multiple locations. Pastor Leon is known for teaching wisdom and life principles that we know will strengthen and equip you, your family, your career and your church.
Something else that was super cool over the weekend, is that on the Friday night of the conference, it was open to the public! So I had invited my friend Sherry and my friend Adrienne ( Y'all remember her from my last post ) to come out ! Some of my other friends Christal and Justin, who also attend the same church were there volunteering ( working the cupcake stand, thats some strength to work amongst such divine tastiness), so it was super cool to have some familiar faces around =)
Last but not least, Pastor Whitney George came to speak to us! His church, "Church On The Move" is a ministry I have a little knowledge about, and honestly... he was my favourite speaker throughout the whole weekend!
Obviously all the speakers this weekend have immense faith, tons of knowledge and know what they are talking about. But for me the things that Whitney spoke too... Is just so current to where I am at in life... Figuring out my calling, and my giftings and putting a plan of action into effect!
Whitney George is the Executive Pastor at Church on the Move in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he oversees the operations and ministries of the church. He led the COTM Arts and Production teams for 10 years and is widely respected for his creative thinking. Whitney is passionate about the local church and loves connecting with other church leaders to further the Kingdom and the excellence with which we do church. He and his wife, Heather, have five children, and he loves Notre Dame football.
I think one of my favourite parts of the weekend though... was how many worship sessions I got in!! The worship experience at Celebration Church is always one to be enjoyed! Especially as my upbringing in church... was never this lively !
Did you grow up going to church ? What were your experiences ? Have your thoughts on church changed ?
