So... I actually cannot even believe that i am going to share some of these pictures. Because, honestly... I have battled with my skin for SO long.
Honestly, i think it was in grade 8, the first time i started resenting my skin, and wearing foundation. For those of you out there that have darker skin tones, you can probably attest to this... But micropigmentation is flippin' real.
It is honestly so frustrating because my skin scars SO easily. If my bra strap rubs on my shoulders too much, it scars.
If i don't lotion my elbows twice a day, the turn super dark. ( as well as my knees).
Whenever I go back to the west indies, the mosquitos literally eat me alive... and yep, you guessed it... I scar so badly.
Nevermind... Acne. Which i am sure those of you with oily/acne prone skin know what I am talking about.
That being said, I have been REALLY trying to get a handle on my skin this past six months, because, i guess I never realized HOW insecure i was about it, and how many situations i was avoiding because I didn't want someone to see me without make up on (sad, I know ).
Anyways, I have found a regiment that seems to be working really well for me, which I will be sharing at a later date with all of my before pictures. But, I was really wanting to bump it up a notch, and THANKFULLY enough, one of my auntie's has a in home spa, and recommended that I come in to start doing some microderm!
First things first we took some hot, wet towels to open up my pores so she could then cleanse me. And then we did a clay mask, I have been seeing alot of people across social media trying out clay masks, and heard alot about their detoxifying qualities. So I was so excited for this part !
The cleanser in which we used has glycolic acid in it, which should really help when it comes to fading my micropigmentation spots, and we mixed the clay with some apple cider vinegar which should help lighten and brighten things as well!
Honestly, this next part is where I am totally blown away ! There are three different pieces that can be attached to the end of the machine, depending on what area you are trying to target -- which was super cool to see / get every nook and cranny lol.
But i was SO blown away at HOW much dead skin was taken off my face... If you look closely in the last picture, you can see there is a clean filter in the middle, and then two dirty ones on either side.
Which is so crazy, because i cleanse my face twice a day with a clairisonic !
I feel like my skin looks SO much more luminous now, and cannot wait to do our next treatment! We are planning to do one a week for four weeks, but i may push that to every two weeks, as my skin is quite dry after our appointment and I do not want to over do it!
If any of you are wanting to try out a microdermabrasion appointment for yourself. My aunt has amazing prices, and literally gives the most amazing facial massage ( i honestly think that was my favourite part ).
